UK's First 'Super Waste' Site is set to come to Lincolnshire

Crowland in Lincolnshire could soon play host to the UK's first 'super waste' site which will have the capacity to treat over 100 different types of waste.

The company behind the plans, Organic Recycling, claims that there will be a £16m anaerobic digestion plant and biomass boiler included in the range of new services. The site currently has a composting facility, dry recycling transfer station and water treatment plant. With the added facilities, the single site approach will mean reduced costs for both local authorities and businesses. It will also create further jobs in Lincolnshire’s growing green economy.

The site will be able to handle 150,000 tonnes of waste every year, producing enough renewable energy to power 1400 homes. 30,000 tonnes o the waste capacity is expected to be recycled material which will be sold onto businesses, stimulating further economic activity.
