The scheme implements best practice in all areas of the business to help achieve reduced waste and operational costs. Companies currently using the scheme are already seeing these benefits. BPIF has announced the scheme will soon have UKAS accreditation, allowing the same fully independent certification associated with ISO 9001 and ISO 14001.
To achieve accreditation, companies must demonstrate good colour quality and production management. Samples are taken from each press included in the scope of the assessment. Once certified, companies are responsible for demonstrating continued conformity with the scheme, through a constantly reviewed management system and annual surveillance audits.
ISO 12647-2 verifies the company’s commitment to consistently produce work to high standards and demonstrates this to customers and buyers.
