Charity Fever at Delta-Simons

Jayne completed the event in an impressive 2hours 10 minutes and enjoyed the challenge so much she has decided to enter for the Mablethorpe Half Marathon in October so she can continue to raise funds for the charity.

Approximately 500,000 people in the UK are thought to have Hepatitis C and as few as 1 in 10 people actually know they have it. The aims of the trust are to raise public awareness about catching the virus, ensuring people infected with it are not discriminated and supporting patients diagnosed with it.

This is a charity very personal to Jayne, “My Aunty was recently diagnosed with Hepatitis C, which we believe she contracted when working as a mid-wife. I think it is really important to raise awareness about the virus, and I hope to raise as much money as I can. I will be aiming to complete the Mablethorpe half Marathon in less than 2 hours, so will be training hard in the lead up to the event” says Jayne.
